Blas is expected to strengthen and reach cat 1 hurricane strength tomorrow. The models are showing Blas reaching Cat 3 strength in a couple of days
Brother Blas is cranking up and as advertized will become a cat 3 storm today as it heads harmlessly toward Hawaii.

Himicane Blas is starting to fade as he gains altitude into cooler waters. The eye is no longer apparent and wind speeds are down to around 90 mph. Rapid weakening is expected during the next 48 hours.
Brother Blas has been plutoed to tropical storm status. It is expected to be a post tropical low in about 36 hours as he continues his slow trek toward Hawaii. .

Brother Blas is winding down and has been plutoed to a tropical depression. He will continue moving west toward Hawaii.
As Blas slowly continues its trek toward Hawaii he continues to maintain an impressive satellite presentation with a distinct 20 mile wide eye. He briefly achieved a Cat 4 status but is currently a category 3 himicane. He will be moving over colder waters during the next 12-24 hours which should result in the onset of weakening and should become post-tropical in 4 days, or perhaps a bit sooner.
