Tropical Storm Kay

Friday, August 19, 2016

tropical depression 12 Echo a couple of hours ago was upgraded to tropical storm Kay.  She is currently around 275 miles SW of the cape and is forecast to continue to move NW away from the cape. It is currently doubtful that tropical storm Kay will reach hurricane strength.
The models are not showing anything else popping up for at least the next 5 day, but you never know.

Kay starting to wind down.  She could be plutoed to a tropical depression later today or tomorrow as she crosses the 26°C thermocline  around 350 miles SW of the cape this morning.  She could continue to suck moisture from Sinaloa where there is a lot of moisture pooled there, and bring more thunderbumpers and showers to the cape region like yesterday.

has been plutoed to a tropical depression and this will probably be the last mention of her.
